This is delayed… but I survived the college process!!!! Congrats to all those who did as well, 2010 was crazy competitive.
I definitely had my share of rejections and disappointments (cough dang you private u’s) but it’s okay, coming out of it i realized I have reached all of my goals.
If you had asked me back in october what my top schools were, I would’ve gave you the whole speech about how I had divided my top schools based on various regions of the country: west-UCLA, middle- WashU in St. Louis, and east-Cornell. Well, out of the thirteen schools I applied to, I got into 3, got waitlisted at 2 and got an offer of transfer at 1…. if you do the math… i, indeed, got loads of rejection letters and emails.
But that’s okay. I definitely was down because of those, but then I realized not only did i apply to mostly impossible schools during a year where it is the most competitive, but I also reached most of my goals. I got into UCLA. I am currently waitlisted at WashU. AND I plan on signing the form to keep the option of a “guaranteed transfer” open for Cornell. That’s all three of my tops right there. Life is good. Hard work has paid off.
Though if you ARE curious, I will probably just go to UCLA, and remain there for four years…. but who knows?
Yayy the beginnings of college drama are over
